Stephanie Carlson Sandefur is an artist originally from Atlanta, GA who now lives in Daphne, AL. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1999 with a B.S in Art Education she began teaching art. Her career began in 2000 at Miller Magnet School in Macon, GA. In May of 2003 Stephanie and her husband Sloan welcomed their first son to the family. It was then she began painting murals and children’s furniture as well as commissioned paintings.
In 2004, she moved to the Eastern Shore and in 2006 began teaching art at Spanish Fort Elementary School in Spanish Fort, AL. In that time her family grew to a party of five as she added two more to the family! Stephanie’s art has also made many changes throughout the years but the use of bold colors and use of line has remained consistent. Fabric and found materials are also a component of her work.
